Genetic Diversity and Structure of Geodorum eulophioides, a Plant Species with Extremely Small Populations in China

چکیده

Geodorum eulophioides is a unique and endangered species belonging to the Orchidaceae family in China. It has great potential as an ornamental horticultural plant. However, little known about its genetic diversity reasons for being due narrow distribution few populations wild. To effectively evaluate conserve available resources, population structure of G. were analyzed this study. A total 94 individuals from 10 natural studied using site-specific amplified fragment sequencing (SLAF-seq). Based on 76,340 SNPs detected by SLAF-seq, analysis was performed markers associated with environmental variables determined. The results showed that level low, PIC values ranging 0.1874 0.2156. FIS ranged −0.2376 0.2658, excess deficiency heterozygotes. FST 0.0482 0.3144, variation among populations. AMOVA accounted 21.35% variation, remaining within 78.65%. classified into three major groups two subgroups. Environmental association Bayenv2 LFMM yielded thirty eighteen putative adaptive loci, respectively, five specific functional genes annotated. In summary, study provides further insight reference protection restoration.

Wild plant species with extremely small populations require conservation and reintroduction in China.

China is exceptionally rich in biodiversity, with more than 30000 vascular plant species that include many endemic genera, species of ancient origin, and cultivated plants (Yang et al. 2005). Because of rapid economic development, population growth, pollution, and continuing resource exploitation, China’s plant diversity faces severe threats. According to the Chinese National Report on Biodiver...

Clonal genetic structure and diversity in populations of an aquatic plant with combined vs. separate sexes.

Clonality is often implicated in models of the evolution of dioecy, but few studies have explicitly compared clonal structure between plant sexual systems, or between the sexes in dioecious populations. Here, we exploit the occurrence of monoecy and dioecy in clonal Sagittaria latifola (Alismataceae) to evaluate two main hypotheses: (i) clone sizes are smaller in monoecious than dioecious popul...
